Bob Barron celebrated his first two race wins in Racing Hondas in style at Knockhill as Will Self edged closer to the Class A crown.
In front of his home crowd, Barron proved unstoppable in his Kilted KSwaps Civic EG as he first qualified on pole position before sweeping to two races with fastest lap for a maximum score.
He controlled Race 1 from lights to flag, finishing well clear of Self’s EG in second, while Tommy Knight (Civic EK) completed the podium in third.
Race 2, held in the wet, showcased Barron’s race craft. From fourth on the partially reversed grid, he swept past Self and then Philip Wright at the hairpin on lap two before charging clear to win again.
Wright’s P2 finish ahead of Self in P3 keep alive his slim Class A title hopes.
Self now heads to Snetterton’s finale in mid-October with a 31-point advantage over Wright and only 37 left to play for.
Elsewhere at Knockhill, there was further celebration for the Kilted KSwaps team as Fraser MacNeill claimed a career-best fourth in Race 2, helped by an early spin for Knight.
James Kiff salvaged fifth after contact in Race 1 had seen his Integra DC2 leave the track.
