Dan Thackeray further extended his overall lead in the Racing Hondas Championship with two more wins in Class B at Snetterton.

For the fourth event in a row, Thackeray qualified on class pole and converted it into victory in Race 1 as closest challenger, Motion Motorsport team-mate Ryan Cunningham, followed just over a second adrift in P2.

As predicted pre-event by Thackeray, though, the competition appeared to be that bit closer on pace as both he and Cunningham were put under pressure by Spencer Fortag (Civic FN2) and Ben Sharpe Racing team-mates Lewis Barker (Civic EP3) and Sam Linssner in particular.

Fortag wouldn’t make the line in Race 1, though, as a clutch failure ruled him out for the rest of the day and meant a red flag stoppage to allow marshals to retrieve his car.

Entering the final stages after the re-start, Linssner got ahead of Barker for P3 in class only for the latter to re-take the position on the final lap and achieve his first podium result in the championship.

Linssner started Race 2’s reversed grid from the class pole and gamely held onto the lead for the majority of distance until Thackeray finally caught and passed him with just a couple of laps to go.

Cunningham also closed in on Linssner and it looked like another Motion 1-2 result was on the cards but, despite an attack at the final bend, the BSR driver held firm to take second from Cunningham – their cars crossing the line side by side.

Barker was also firmly in the running as he followed them home close behind in fourth.

In Class C, points leader Matt Rowling (EP3) picked up another pair of wins but both were hard fought as main rival Callum Houchen (FN2) proved tough to pass in the two closest races season between them so far this season.
