Dan Thackeray leads the Racing Hondas standings outright as the championship makes a first ever appearance on Snetterton’s full-length 300 circuit configuration this weekend.

Thackeray has been defeated just once in six rounds so far – when his Civic EP3 hit a technical snag at Brands Hatch, allowing Motion Motorsport team-mate and reigning 2024 Champ Ryan Cunningham to steal the win.

The London stock trader said: “Ryan is keeping me on my toes – we work together on data and it’s just the small margins that add up over a race.

“He is getting faster all the time and, with him about, I know I cannot afford to slip up.

“Snetterton is actually my favourite track – It might not have undulations of some circuits but it’s got a great combination of corners all in one lap to figure out.”

Thackeray leads Cunningham by nine points in the Class B standings with 15 awarded per win. In the outright table, Cunningham stays second with Class A leader in third, a further four adrift.

Thackeray, though, predicts it’s not just Cunningham who could start to take points away from him in Class B – which would suddenly affect his outright score.

Indeed, the likes of Spencer Fortag, Sam Linssner, Lewis Barker, Sammy Mileham, James Kembrey have shown increasingly threatening form.

“The others are getting closer, no doubt about it,” adds Thackeray.

“This is my third year in this car so am at home with it, whereas some of those are still adjusting having upgraded their cars from Class C to B-spec.

“It’s difficult to be super-fast straightaway in B-spec cars but you can see they are starting to figure it out.

“I’m expecting things to get harder with each event.”

Meanwhile, expect another ferocious fight at the very front of the field from the leading protagonists in the faster Class A machinery.

Talbot (Integra DC5) leads the way following his three wins from the opening six rounds but is under huge pressure from Snetterton local Philip Wright (Civic EP3), Will Self (Civic EG) and Liam Collins (Integra DC2).

Tommy Knight (Civic EK), Bob Barron (Civic EG) and, after a stunning debut last time out at Brands Hatch, (James Kiff (Integra DC5) should also be in the mix.

Expected to make a one-off return at Snetterton is last year’s A Champion Dan Brown in his upgraded Civic EG Bali. CLICK HERE for all the other latest news heading into Snetterton.

In Class C, expect Matt Rowling (Civic EP3) and Callum Houchen (Civic FN2) to continue their on-going battle for supremacy.
