Kevin Talbot goes into this Brands Hatch’s Racing Hondas Championship rounds this Sunday (15 June) leading the headlining Class A, but it’s Dan Thackeray – unbeaten so far in Class B – who tops the standings outright.

Talbot’s win in his Integra DC5 last time out at Donington Park – his second from the season’s opening four rounds – came after a fine drive under pressure from chief rival Will Self’s Civic EG.

Just eight points separate the pair with 2023 Champion Philip Wright, winner of Donington’s first race in his Civic EP3, only a further three adrift in third.

With a maximum of 37 available from Brands’s double-header, a fascinating fight is in prospect as their different models of car play to their respective strengths on Brands’s compact Indy circuit. But they are not the only ones in the hunt for a victory…

Liam Collins, the current qualifying and race lap record holder, is eager to open his 2025 account in his sinister-looking Integra DC2, whilst Tommy Knight (Civic EK) and Bob Barron (Civic EG) will also surely be in the mix given their early season form. Barron, a racing novice based 600 miles from Brands in northern Scotland, is hoping its third time lucky in terms of a breakthrough podium after coming close at both Cadwell Park and Donington.

Meanwhile, Londoner Thackeray will be looking to make it six straight wins in Class B, his maximum score to date having put him 20 points clear in the overall championship.

Team-mate Ryan Cunningham, who clinched the outright crown at Brands last September, is his nearest challenger but watch too for Sam Linssner, Spencer Fortag and impressive newcomer Lewis Barker who was on the podium pace on his way to two strong fourths in class at Donington.

In Class C for the lesser-powered cars, lifeboat crew member Andy Barnes – whose Club Time Attack ORG runs Racing Hondas from its offices in nearby Sheerness – goes for four wins on the bounce against the division’s main protagonists Matt Rowling and Callum Houchen.

The Racing Hondas Championship races at Brands Hatch – rounds 5 & 6 of their season – will take place as part of Club Time Attack ORG’s big Tunerfest South by Lucas Oil festival which is expected to attracted large numbers of modified car and tuning enthusiasts.
