Father and son team Anthony and Nicholas Allitt have confirmed plans to join the Racing Hondas Class A grid in 2025.
The pair, from Neath, will take turns to appear in their newly-built Civic EP3 under their REViT Motorsport banner.
Nicholas, aged 31, will make his car racing debut in the K24-engined machine at Donington Park’s rounds later this month.
Anthony, a driving instructor, then hopes to be out in the car for Brands Hatch’s rounds in May before they alternate for the remainder of the season.
The EP3, originally a ‘Covid buy’, has benefited from Nicholas’s expertise as a graduate mechanical engineer – its aerodynamics formed part of his final university project focusing on CFD (computational fluid dynamics).
“I’m hoping we can make a good account of ourselves – the aim is to be on the grid more permanently in 2026,” said 31-year-old Nicholas, an ex-karter and, more recently, a track day enthusiast.
“I’ve had a run in the EP3 at Castle Combe and my dad’s had a race in it at Brands Hatch and the car seems to be running all OK.
“I’ve never driven Donington but hope to the hit the ground running.”
Anthony has previously raced successfully in a variety of club and overseas saloon car championships (Welsh saloons, Nippon Challenge and Dutch touring cars) but hasn’t competed since 2012.
He explained: “I’m a bit race rusty and it seems right Nick gives the car its debut in Racing Hondas – the car has been built up from a bare shell with every nut and bolt refreshed and he has done a lot of work on it over the past year or more.”
The Racing Hondas Championship’s third and fourth rounds of 2025 will take place at Donington Park on Bank Holiday Monday 26 May as part of organiser Time Attack ORG’s big JDM Jam modified car show.
