Barron Dominates While Mileham Holds Off S2000Rs

28th May 2026

Bob Barron continued his commanding start to the 2026 Racing Hondas season with another dominant double victory at Donington Park during JDM JAM, while Class B produced some of the closest and most dramatic racing of the season so far.

CLASS A — Barron stays untouchable as Knight fights through

Barron arrived at Donington Park with the championship lead and immediately stamped his authority on the weekend, topping practice before producing a stunning late qualifying lap to secure pole position by almost nine tenths of a second.

Behind him, Dave Buky and Fraser McNeill pushed hard but could not match the pace of the Kilted KSwaps Civic, while Sam Goward impressed with fourth on his return in the retro EF Civic. Tommy Knight, meanwhile, battled VTEC issues throughout qualifying and could manage only fifth.

Race 1 quickly became another Barron masterclass.

Untroubled out front, Barron controlled the race from lights to flag while the real action unfolded behind. Goward faded early with issues at the Old Hairpin, allowing Knight to carve through the order and launch an intense battle with McNeill for second.

After several failed attempts, Knight finally made the move stick with a bold last-lap dive to steal second place, with McNeill forced to settle for third ahead of Buky.

Race 2 followed a familiar pattern despite the reverse grid.

Barron needed only a single lap to surge from fourth into the lead and, even after a brief safety car interruption to recover Spencer Fortag’s stranded FN2 Civic, the reigning frontrunner never looked under pressure.

Behind him, Buky delivered one of his strongest drives yet to hold onto second, while McNeill resisted relentless pressure from Knight to secure another podium finish in a superb four-way Class A scrap covered by less than five seconds at the flag.

👉 Key takeaway: Barron remains the clear benchmark — but the chasing pack is getting closer.

CLASS B — S2000Rs and EP3s go wheel-to-wheel in Donington thriller

Class B delivered arguably the best racing of the entire weekend, with the new S2000R package facing fierce opposition from the established EP3 Civics.

Qualifying saw Rob Boston edge Sammy Mileham to pole position, while points leader Phil Wright endured a difficult weekend after struggling for pace throughout practice.

Race 1 developed into a spectacular multi-car battle between Boston, Wright, Mileham and the recovering Sam Heading. Mileham ultimately emerged on top after surviving relentless pressure from the S2000Rs, while Wright dropped from contention late on following a final-lap issue.

Race 2 somehow became even closer.

With Wright absent after failing to start, five drivers fought nose-to-tail throughout the race as Boston battled a smoking-engine issue through the right-handers while trying to hold off Mileham, Danny Weston, Lewis Barker and Heading.

Boston eventually hung on for victory, narrowly beating Mileham in a drag race to the line, while Weston snatched the final podium position late on despite Barker appearing set to secure it.

👉 Key takeaway: Class B is rapidly becoming the championship’s most unpredictable fight.

Next Stop: Brands Hatch

The Racing Hondas Championship now heads to Brands Hatch for Rounds 7 & 8 on 14 June as part of Tunerfest, with both Class A and Class B battles continuing to intensify heading into the second half of the season.
