Racing Hondas is pleased to announce the introduction of an Invitation Class for the remainder of the 2026 season, creating a new route for additional Honda-based race cars to join the grid.
The Invitation Class has been developed to provide greater flexibility for drivers whose cars may not currently fit within the existing Racing Hondas regulations, while creating a route for more Honda race cars to compete at some of the UK’s best circuits in front of tens of thousands of spectators attending major automotive events throughout the season.
Available from the next round at Oulton Park on 4 July, as part of Tunerfest North, the Invitation Class has been introduced to help the championship better understand the level of interest from the wider Honda racing community while supporting the ongoing development of the series.
The initiative follows discussions with registered competitors, all of whom have supported the introduction of the Invitation Class as part of the championship’s future growth plans.
Paul McErlean, Head of Motorsport, said:
“I’m delighted that we’ve been able to introduce the Invitation Class and I’d like to thank our registered competitors for their support in making it happen.
One of the challenges when developing any championship is separating genuine interest from guesswork. The Invitation Class gives us an opportunity to better understand what additional Honda race cars are out there, what drivers are looking for and how that can help shape the future direction of Racing Hondas.
At its heart, the concept is very simple. If you have a Honda race car, we want to have a conversation about how we can get you on the grid. The information and experience we gain through the Invitation Class will help inform future championship development and support the work already underway on our 2027 proposals.”
Racing Hondas is built around close, competitive racing and a welcoming paddock atmosphere, with competitors performing in front of large live audiences at major automotive events including Modified Live, Tunerfest, JDM JAM, GO Japan and the Obsession Car Show.
Drivers interested in joining the Invitation Class, whether for a single event or the remainder of the 2026 season, are encouraged to contact [email protected] to discuss their car and participation in the championship.
The next opportunity to join the grid is at Oulton Park on 4 July 2026 as part of Tunerfest North.
