We are pleased to announce that Ex-works Honda BTCC racing driver James Kaye will be taking to the wheel of the S2000R during the 2026 season with his debut at Cadwell Park on 4th May.

A well-known name from BTCC and International Endurance racing, Kaye has been a stalwart competitor in Honda machinery across multiple championships. His successful career spans one-make racing and includes long spells in the BTCC, where he established himself as a consistent runner in the Super Touring era and onwards later becoming Production Class Champion in the Honda Civic Type R EP3.

James will pilot the striking Takata-liveried S2000R as part of a programme that will see him appear at selected events throughout the season.

Speaking ahead of his return, James said:
“I’ve been following the S2000R package since last year and they look very good. After seeing the S2000R’s race strong in the pack at Silverstone a couple of weeks ago, I jumped at the chance to get behind the wheel. I think the last time I raced at Cadwell Park was in the late 1980’s so I am looking forward to it very much.”

Racing Hondas Co-ordinator Paul McErlean added:
“It’s great to have someone of James’ experience and touring car pedigree joining the championship. His background with Honda machinery makes him a really strong fit for the S2000R programme.

We’re looking forward to seeing him out on track at Cadwell and how he adapts to the rear-wheel-drive S2000R in a competitive environment.”

We’re excited to welcome James to the Racing Hondas paddock and look forward to seeing him back on track.

Last weekend (April 5th) marked a major milestone for Racing Hondas, as all three of the first Honda S2000R Cup builds hit the track together for the very first time at Silverstone.

Luke Sedzikowski piloted the Advan liveried car, Phil Wright took the wheel of the bold yellow machine and Guy Martin brought the iconic Takata Dome colours to life on track.

Race 1 Results
It was a strong start to the weekend, with Phil Wright securing an impressive Class B victory. Guy Martin brought the Takata S2000R home in 6th place in class, while Luke Sedzikowski unfortunately recorded a DNF in the Advan car when a ball joint came loose while running in a strong position.

Race 2 Results
Phil Wright continued his dominant form, taking another Class B win. Luke Sedzikowski bounced back with a solid 4th place finish after starting way-back, while Guy Martin crossed the line in 9th in Class B.

Luke Sedzikowski reflected positively on the weekend:
“It was great to be out for the first race of the S2000R Cup. The cars performed great. Running within the Racing Hondas Class B was so much fun. The cars are very similar on performance with the Civic, meaning both my races I raced lights to flag with other cars in the pack. I can’t wait for Cadwell Park now to see how they perform on a technical circuit as the car feels so comfortable to drive fast, its corner exits of which there are plenty at Cadwell, should see the car performing strong once more.”

Phil Wright also shared his thoughts after a successful weekend:
“Friday testing was a bit all over the place with the change of weather mid-day. We never really felt like we found a setup that worked, but the times were fast. Compared to our test at Snetterton, the car felt really tail happy which makes it exciting to drive. Once I got my head around it I started driving it instead of chasing setup changes.

Race day was mega – warmer and less windy. We put better tyres on and it transformed the car. It turned in mint and when it did oversteer it was controllable, which gave me a lot of confidence.

S2000 vs Civic was my biggest concern and the races really showed how close they are in pace, but also how different they are in certain parts of the circuit. I could brake later, they could carry more speed to the apex, but I could get on the throttle sooner – and we’d both exit at the same speed.

Overall, some of the most enjoyable racing I’ve had and the car filled me with confidence, we will continue to understand how to get the best from the car to ensure we can compete at the sharp end against well-proven Civic’s.”

With two class wins and strong pace across the board, it’s clear the S2000Rs have arrived ready to compete and are on-par with the performance of the EP3’s in Class B, demonstrating that the specification choices in the build sheet are necessary and suitable ingredients for a cracking rear-wheel drive club-race car. All three cars ran faultlessly with no issues with the only minor loose ball joint from Luke’s car to report which was quickly remedied.

Currently 3 cars are on the grid with 2 others in build to join shortly with more planned to join as the season progresses.

Bob Barron and Phil Wright laid down early championship markers as Racing Hondas kicked off 2026 at Silverstone Circuit.

Class A – Barron dominates with double win

Bob Barron (#27 Civic EG) was untouchable across the weekend, converting pole into a lights-to-flag win in Race 1 before storming from fourth to victory in Race 2.

In Race 1, Barron controlled the pace from the front, setting the fastest lap (1:03.074) and winning by 2.4 seconds.

Behind him, David Buky secured a career-best second after soaking up sustained pressure from Tommy Knight, with just 2.9 seconds covering the top three.

Race 2 followed a similar script. Despite the reverse grid, Barron charged through to the lead on lap one and never looked back, completing a dominant double.

Buky backed up his strong form with another P2, while Ryan Jenkinson delivered the drive of the race – climbing from the midfield to secure a first podium for his Integra DC2.

Key takeaway: Barron leaves Silverstone as the early benchmark in Class A.

Class B – Wright delivers historic S2000 debut wins

Phil Wright (#63 S2000R) made history with a perfect debut weekend for the new rear-wheel-drive Honda, taking two wins from two and setting both lap records.

In Race 1, Wright led from pole and controlled the race throughout, finishing 3.6 seconds clear.

The battle behind was intense, with Sammy Mileham securing second and Lewis Barker inheriting third after a late retirement for Luke Sedzikowski following contact and suspension failure.

Race 2 saw a proper fight. Barker led early before Wright made the decisive move on lap 11 to take control and secure the double.

Mileham completed a consistent weekend with another podium, while Sedzikowski recovered to fourth in a dramatic photo finish – just 0.057 seconds ahead of Danny Weston.

Key takeaway: The S2000R arrives with immediate pace and Wright looks like the man to beat.

Phil Wright is returning to the Racing Hondas Championship grid for the 2026 season, this time in an S2000R as he steps into Class B.

Phil’s car follows suit with the other S2000R builds this season, featuring a JDM-inspired livery. It’s been finished in the iconic Pennzoil design – famously seen on the Nissan Pennzoil Nismo GT-R ‘99.

After competing in Class A last season, Phil now faces a new challenge with rear-wheel drive for the first time.

“I’m a little bit uncertain on the speed of the car in Class B and the speed of me in a RWD car,” he said. “However, I feel a lot less pressure this year than normal as it’s a learning year in RWD, as I’ve never raced a RWD car.”

With a fresh setup and a focus on learning, 2026 will be a season of development for Phil as he adapts to the S2000R.

The Time Attack Organisation is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Schofield to its motorsport team.

Andrew will support race weekend operations and competitor engagement across both the Time Attack Championship and Racing Hondas Championship, working alongside Head of Motorsport Paul McErlean to help ensure the smooth and professional delivery of on-track activities throughout the year.

Bringing nearly three decades of hands-on motorsport experience, Andrew has worked across scholarship programmes, championship operations and driver development roles. His background includes running the Vauxhall Vectra Scholarship programme, involvement in the Michelin Renault Clio Scholarship, managing hospitality and sponsor programmes at TOCA events, and instructing at leading race and rally schools including Palmersport. He has also delivered performance driving programmes internationally in Norway and Sweden and supported drivers preparing for Nürburgring permit competition in VLN.

Since 2013, Andrew has worked with the British Racing & Sports Car Club (BRSCC), coordinating multiple championships. He remains an active race licence holder, most recently competing in the C1 24 Hour Endurance race in May 2025.

Paul McErlean commented:

“I’ve worked alongside Andrew for many years and have always valued his professionalism and competitor-first approach. His operational experience and understanding of how championships function trackside make him a strong addition to our team.

As we continue to develop both Time Attack and Racing Hondas, having Andrew involved in our race weekend structure will help ensure we continue to deliver a consistent and high-quality experience for competitors and teams.”

Andrew Schofield added:

“I’m delighted to be joining the Time Attack Organisation and working with Paul and the existing team. The championships have a strong identity and loyal competitor base, and I’m looking forward to supporting their continued growth and meeting competitors throughout the season.”

Andrew will begin his trackside role at the opening Racing Hondas round of the 2026 season at Silverstone on 5 April.

The Time Attack Organisation – which operates Club Time Attack, the Time Attack Championship, the Racing Hondas Championship, and a portfolio of high-profile car show events – is pleased to announce the appointment of Paul McErlean as its new Head of Motorsport.

Paul joins the senior management team at a time of continued progression for the organisation, as it builds on a long-standing legacy of delivering some of the UK’s most exciting and immersive motorsport events. Paul will oversee all racing activities and lead the motorsport operations into their next chapter.

Paul arrives following the recent news of his departure from the British Racing & Sports Car Club (BRSCC), where he held the position of Chief Operating Officer, overseeing more than 25 race weekends and 20+ championships annually. His extensive experience and deep understanding of the motorsport industry make him a strong addition to the organisation as it continues to evolve and grow its racing portfolio.

Andy Barnes, Chairman of Club Time Attack, commented:

“On behalf of everyone involved in our club and business, I extend a very warm welcome to Paul as he joins the Time Attack family. His industry knowledge, experience and proven track record of delivering successful programmes are well known.

I have tasked him with the overall responsibility for the management, coordination and development of our championships, with the support and resources needed to enhance our offering to drivers, teams, customers and fans. His appointment strengthens our operation and helps ensure we continue to grow our on-track activities.

I’d like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank Carl McKellar and Lee Anne Harper for their commitment, professionalism and contribution to our championships and organisation, and to acknowledge the part they have played in the organisation’s journey.”

Paul McErlean added:

“I’m excited to be joining the Time Attack Organisation and to be working with a team that has such a strong track record of delivering standout motorsport events. My role will be to help build on the strong foundations in place, strengthening and supporting the organisation’s motorsport offering as the championships continue to grow.”

Paul joins the organisation on 9 February 2026, just ahead of the new racing season, and will work closely alongside Tom Davis, Head of Events, to deliver exceptional, interactive motorsport events across the year.

The Time Attack Organisation (TAORG) is pleased to announce a new multi-year partnership with Probite Performance Brakes, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of braking systems.

The agreement will see the Probite brand represented across all TAORG-run championships and national car show events, including the Time Attack Championship, Racing Hondas Championship, Drift Pro, and TAORG’s seven major car shows: Tunerfest, Go Japan, Modified Live, and JDM JAM.

Following its recent headline sponsorship of the British Rally Championship, Probite now turns its focus towards the UK’s leading aftermarket motorsport and enthusiast platforms, aligning with both TAORG’s on and off track activities to reach a broad and engaged performance audience.

As part of the agreement, Probite brake discs and pads will also become the control components for the newest category within the Racing Hondas Championship, the S2000 Cup, ensuring each S2000R is equipped with Probite products.

Commenting on the announcement, Andy Barnes, Managing Director of the Time Attack Organisation, said:

“Probite have been consistent supporters of our car shows over the past three years, and it is great to see that, through experiencing our events and understanding our audience, they have committed to a long-term partnership across the entire TAORG platform.

As a UK manufacturer, our role is to put the spotlight on their products and brand in front of our sizeable and engaged audience, ensuring that when enthusiasts and competitors are making decisions on servicing and upgrades, Probite is firmly on their radar.

Despite being one of the largest braking manufacturers in the country, Probite remains relatively unknown to many due to its extensive white-label manufacturing for other brands. We look forward to amplifying their presence and telling that story.”

Garry Curley, Commercial Manager at Probite, said:

“We’re excited to be coming on board as an official partner of the Time Attack Organisation. This partnership is a big step for us because the cars competing in these championships directly relate to the performance braking products we design and manufacture. It’s a perfect match for what we stand for and gives us the platform to showcase our expertise and innovation to a passionate motorsport audience.

Also, having the fantastic opportunity to become the control braking partner for the exciting new S2000R class within Racing Hondas allows us to reinforce our position as a true British performance braking brand. Motorsport is in our DNA, and working alongside Racing Hondas allows us to connect with enthusiasts who share our passion for precision, performance, and innovation.

We can’t wait to start working with Andy and his great team, to see what the future holds, and look forward to an incredible season ahead.”
