Will Self and, for the first time, Tommy Knight claimed victories in the latest rounds at Brands Hatch.
Self’s Race 1 win, followed by third in Race 2, extends his lead at the top of the Class A standings to 19 points over Philip Wright.
The Warminster driver now has the chance to wrap up the Class A title provisionally in the championship’s penultimate rounds at Knockhill on 27 September (CLICK HERE for latest points).
Both races on the Brands Indy circuit were watched by a huge trackside crowd which had flocked through the gates for the accompanying Go Japan! festival.
Unfortunately, Race 1 was red-flagged before full distance when a Class B car crashed and became stranded trackside.

At the time, Self’s Civic EG was leading ahead of Liam Collins’ Integra DC2, securing his fifth straight victory.
Collins, who had started from pole position, dropped behind Self at Paddock Hill Bend on lap one but kept the pressure on throughout, setting the fastest lap as Knight Civic EK shadowed him in third. Wright’s EP3 and James Kiff’s Integra DC2 completed the top five.
In Race 2, Kiff started from the reversed-grid pole, but contact at Paddock between his car and Knight’s fast-starting EK sent the DC2 into retirement.
Knight continued out front, with Wright and Self giving chase – this pair duelling fiercely and at one stage even rubbing wheels through Paddock.

Taking advantage of their squabbling, Knight eventually drew two-seconds clear out front to achieve his maiden Class A win as Wright held on for Wright ahead of Self in third.
After losing ground at the start, Collins recovered to fourth after passing Kevin Talbot’s DC2, again setting the fastest lap. Collins remains third in the Class A standings ahead of Knight who has moved ahead of Talbot into fourth.
